i would like to make my own number plate for this season. i just want to do all the work on a number plate and then have the same number as someone.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
The only way to reserve a number is to buy a season pass. Otherwise it's first come-first serve.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
There are two season passes..
First one that is $150 and is for only Sunday events during SuperFly.
The second one is $190 and covers you for all Sunday and Saturday events.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
ill just say it. we should be able to call a number for the season. so what if i dont spend $150 or $190. i still think its bs to say we cant pick a number for the season when we all pay to race.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
I don't think of the $190 as paying for something so much as donating to our cause. If I don't make up for it, so what? It's not like anyone's making money off of it; it goes towards supplies and other stuff so we can keep doing what we're doing. I'm not trying to sound "high and mighty"; this is just how I see it.
One of the benefits of pre-paying is the option to pick your own number. It's sort of like saying "Hey, I'm gonna be there every week, so let me keep the same number throughout the season" rather than "I might be there or might not, but please save my number for the few cases I may be there".
Just my 2 cents on the subject.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
it would be different if it worked out to be the same price but it cost more to prepay for the year. i just dont want to pay 190 and go every time to have the same number when i can go every week pay my 8 and probly have the same number

Re: AUTOX Numbers
Also keep in mind that the price for AutoX may go up at some point during the year as well. There's no guarantee it will stay at 8. I dunno what Saturdays usually cost, but if you go from May through September every Sunday at $8 that's 5 months, figure 22 weeks(give or take) and that's $176 just for Sundays.
I know it's highly unlikely you will attend all events, but it *is* possible to break even or come out ahead. Also, you don't have to worry about having the cash on you to participate (I have a history of failing at this as Sam has noticed).

Re: AUTOX Numbers
I guess just think of it as a perk to pre-paying. There are a couple things you got in addition to pre-paying and a set number is one of em.
You could just get a huge, thin magnet and just make your own numbers with a razer blade and MS word printouts I might do this cuz I don't want vinyls

Re: AUTOX Numbers
Ok as the guy in charge of AAX let me lay down what as been determined so far. The high prices for the pass is to move the club forward, not a single one of us gets paid we simply do this because we love the sport. We would like to get insurance so that we can pretty much do what we want (within reason), we would like to get a set of loaner helmets so those who dont autox enough to justify spending the money on one can still race once helmets become required! we would also like to and most importantly get a legit timing system something that would time to cars at once as well as display the time to the driver at the finish, the workers in the tent, and the spectators.
As for numbers its first come first serve as its only fair to those who have dedicated their support and participation to the club. the numbers will be entered into a log along with car and driver info, so as to speed up the registration and tech process.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
Honestly you will save some money doing the pre-pay way. It also helps out a lot for us and we get to make this a better experience for all of you. also i dont know if many of you have ever gone to a NORA event, but if we charged $15 a day we would still be a hell of a lot cheaper than them. As far as I know right now it is still 8, unfortunetly it is subject to change due to any changes in the future. As Jeff said we will be trying to make this a little bit safer for the drivers this year and with that we can have bigger and better courses.
But as i said we will be taking plastic for everyone who doesnt have cash on them.

Re: AUTOX Numbers
I wouldnt say all day jimmy lol. but the way way i see it every driver will pay 8 bucks per event with each car averaging 15+ runs! (possibly more depends on turn out that day). Considering NORA charges 60 and averages about 6 runs and PCCA charges 40 and you average 6-8 thats a hell of a deal!!!!!!!!!

Re: AUTOX Numbers
NORA -> $60/6 runs -> $10 per run
PCCA -> $40/6-8 runs -> $5-6.66 per run
AAX -> $8/15 runs -> $.53 per run
Just in case you didn't feel like doing the math
